2 methods of using flame-retardant polyester chips to make flame retardant fibers:

Method 1 to produce flame retardant polyester chips

Use 100% flame-retardant polyester chips for spinning. The production cost of this method is higher, but the operation is simpler. The phosphorus content of the chips is around 6500 ppm, and the limiting oxygen index of the fibers is around 30.

Method 2 to produce flame retardant polyester chips

Use a mixture of flame-retardant polyester chips and ordinary polyester chips (or bottle-grade polyester chips) for spinning. This method requires blend spinning technology, but can reduce production costs. The phosphorus content of the chips can reach 14,000 ppm, and the proportion of flame-retardant and ordinary polyester chips is determined according to the requirements of the limiting oxygen index of the final product.
